Your Welding Gas Supplier in Tennessee

Welding Productivity Solutions

Gases protect your equipment and deliver high-quality weld outcomes. Combining gases helps you achieve the travel speed, arc stability, reduced spatter, weld quality and bead penetration required for your application.

High-quality welding gases produce better results, and Volunteer Welding Gases & Supply can deliver dependable products and blends for your varying welding needs. Our company has been around since 1973 as a welding supply company, eventually adding more offerings. With a local presence and resources through our partnership with Meritus Gas Partners, we help you at every stage of the purchasing process.

Our Welding Blends in Tennessee

At Volunteer Welding, we offer a range of welding gases, including industrial-grade argon, in cylinders, dewars, microbulk and bulk tank delivery. We also feature a range of gases commonly used in welding, including helium and carbon dioxide.

We have reducing gases, such as hydrogen, available to prevent weld contamination and oxidation, and oxidizing gases, such as carbon dioxide and oxygen, to promote oxidation. Our gases are appropriate for metal inert gas (MIG) and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding.

In addition to specific gases used for welding, we offer gas mixtures that provide specific benefits, such as improved penetration or arc stability. We use precise ratios for these gas mixtures.

Two-Part Blends

Our range of two-part welding mixtures can be delivered in cylinders, dewars, microbulk or bulk, depending on the mixture and your location. Here is what is available:

  • Argon-carbon dioxide: This blend, often 25% carbon dioxide and 75% argon, supports short-circuit arc transfer in MIG welding. We also provide different ratios of carbon dioxide and argon for your specific job requirements.
  • Argon-helium: If you need higher heat characteristics, such as for welding aluminum, our 25% helium and 75% argon blend may be the right choice.
  • Argon-hydrogen: This blend creates a hotter arc and is appropriate for high-penetration TIG welding.
  • Argon-oxygen: For low fume and good arc stability, this blend can help you achieve low spatter.

Three-Part Blends

Volunteer Welding has a range of blends with various combinations of nitrogen, oxygen, argon, helium, carbon dioxide and hydrogen for different use cases:

  • Argon-carbon dioxide-oxygen: With different ratios available, this blend is especially useful as a shielding gas for carbon steel work, when you need a reliable arc and strong weld.
  • Argon-carbon dioxide-hydrogen: A common choice for consistent weld bead and arc stability, especially in MIG welding, this mixture provides strong welds for stainless steel.
  • Argon-helium-carbon dioxide: A mix of 7.5% argon, 90% helium and 2.5% carbon dioxide, this blend is an option for stainless steel welding and short-arc welding because it improves corrosion resistance and heat input.
  • Argon-nitrogen-carbon dioxide: Ideal for stainless steel welding, this blend improves penetration, stability and corrosion resistance while reducing distortion.
