How HI-FLOAT® Balloon Treatment Works

When HI-FLOAT®, designed for latex balloons, was introduced in 1984, it was engineered to extend their lifespan. Ultra HI-FLOAT® balloon treatment was introduced later and allows latex helium balloons to remain inflated and float up to 25x longer than balloons inflated with helium alone. It can also be used with air-filled latex balloons, which can stay filled for over a month with the treatment. 

HI-FLOAT® is a non-toxic, made-in-USA formula applied inside latex balloons just before you inflate them. As it dries, it forms a coating that slows the loss of helium or air. You can also use the formula for special effects. For example, you can add confetti to coat the inside of a balloon while the formula is still wet, so the confetti dries in place.

For best results, follow the recommendations for how much HI-FLOAT® to use. Keep balloons out of cool conditions and transport bags for a few hours after inflation. Also, keep balloons out of humid conditions, since humidity can rewet the formula. 

For added shine, HICO also offers HI-SHINE®, a non-toxic, made-in-USA formula that helps latex balloons stay bright for weeks.
